Rochester, NY Police officer Spenser McCavoy kisses his bride Lindsay
as the two sit on RPD cruiser.

If you're getting married, the Rochester Police Department wants you to know that you can call 911 and request an RPD cruiser for your wedding's photo shoot.
In other words, you can have a taxpayer funded, official Rochester Police cruiser be a prop at your wedding!
That's basically what Rochester Police Sgt. Venosa told me Sunday afternoon, when I reached out to the RPD for comment after a photo surfaced on social media showing Rochester Police officer Spenser McCavoy kissing his beautiful bride Lindsay Himes McCavoy, in front of a clean Rochester Police cruiser with its lights on.
"We do that all tne time for anyone who requests it," said Sgt. Venosa.
"I don't really see a problem with it."
RPD officer Spenser McCavoy, who was sworn in to the RPD in June, married Himes this past Saturday September 13th, at Blessed Sacrament Church located on Monroe Avenue in Rochester.
Among tne guests were Rochester Police officers, both on and off duty, as well as City officials.
In fact, according to my sources, who asked to remain anonymous, the RPD officer who drove the cruiser to the wedding and photo shoot was on duty.
"He waited around, for the photo shoot," my source said.
"Waited around"?
And let's just say that although officer McCavoy has only been on the force less than 3 months, he's already seeing the entitlement perks, fringe benefits and special privileges that accompany a career with the Rochester Police department.
You get to have a cop wedding and an RPD cruiser to use as a background prop for you and your bride to lean on for your photo shoot.
And the best part is, taxpayers pay for it.
I don't know about you, but I can think of better things that an on duty Rochester Police officer can do than to sit around a fellow cops wedding and then position your cruiser just right for a photo shoot.
Especially in a crime infested city such as Rochester, NY.
But apparently the Rochester Police department doesn't look at it that way.
So remember, if you or a loved one is getting married, be sure to call Rochester Police and ask that an RPD cruiser be dispatched to your wedding's photo shoot.
When you hear silence on the other end of the phone, you can tell them Sgt. Venosa said it's ok.
They do it all the time.
Let me know how it works out for you.
