New York State Trooper Shoots Black Motorist 3 Times During Traffic Stop (UPDATED)

A New York State Trooper who claimed that a black motorist attacked him during a traffic stop, shot him three times.

According to New York State Police Captain Rick Allen, 19-year old Tyshawn Jones of Brooklyn, NY, attacked the NYS Trooper after being pulled over.

NYS State Police say Jones punched the trooper repeatedly in the face.

That's when police say the trooper shot Jones three times, hitting him in the shoulder and abdomen.

The shooting took place Wednesday night around 11 p.m. on Routes 5 & 20 in Lima, Livingston County, NY.

Jones is listed in serious condition at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.
