Monroe County, NY Sheriff's Deputy Robert Glazier |
Monroe County, NY Sheriff's deputy Robert Glazier, who was pulled over by Livingston County Sheriff's deputies on Saturday for driving erratic on Interstate 390 in the Town of Avon, NY, with a 12-year old boy in the car, and was charged with DWI under Leandra's Law, has resigned.
Livingston County Sheriff's deputies say deputy Glazier was swerving all over I-390 and almost hit several other vehicles.
When deputies approached Glazier's vehicle they saw his young passenger.
Livingston County Sheriff's deputies say that Deputy Glazier, a 27-year veteran of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, refused a breathalyzer, and failed all the road side sobriety tests.
Interstate 390, near Avon, NY, where Livingston County, NY Sheriff's Deputies say Deputy Glazier was swerving, almost hitting several cars. |
Leandra's Law makes it an automatic felony on the first offense to drive drunk with a person 15 or younger inside the vehicle, and an alcohol blood content level, or BAC of 0.08. or higher.
To make matters worse, Deputy Glazier had been target shooting, drunk, before getting in his car, and heading back to his home in Monroe County. before being pulled over.
This is not the first time that a Monroe County, NY Sheriff's deputy has been charged with DWI under Leandra's Law.
Monroe County, NY Cheriff's Sgt. Paul Doser charged with DWI charged with Leandra's Law, after driving drunk with 6-year old boy, and crashing vehicle, flipping it over. |
Monroe County, NY Sheriff's Office Spokesman Cpl. John Helfer said deputies saw an upside down, flipped over, 2005 Subaru in a field, after they responded to a call for a single-car crash in the area of 1732 Brick Schoolhouse Road, in Hamlin, NY.
"He endangered not only the child, but everyone in the vehicle," Assistant District Attorney Raymond Benitez said, of Sgt. Doser.
Benitez said Doser's blood-alcohol content at the time of the crash was .18 percent, which is more than twice the legal threshold for DWI.
To think of all the DWI arrests just these two Monroe County, NY Sheriffs law enforcement officers have made in their entire careers, then for them to hypocritically get behind the wheel of a vehicle, and drive drunk, on top of that, endanger the lives of innocent children, and other motorists, is beyond disgusting.
I guess for these officers it's the old "Do as I say, not as I do."
