On August 30th, The Davy V. Blog exposed racist and antisemitic graffiti at Rochester, NY's abandoned asylum.
The word NIGGERS as well as a Nazi swastika symbol were spray painted on the side of the Terrence Building, the former psychiatric hospital on Elmwood Avenue, which is slated to be demolished.
After reaching out to Rochester, NY mainstream news media outlets, who completely blew me off, I called the City of Rochester, NY's 311 phone line, and spoke with Liani, a very nice 311 dispatcher who took down the information.
A few days later, the racist and antisemitic graffiti had been painted over and at least three mobile surveillance camera trailers surrounded the building.
Then, a couple of days ago, I noticed that fencing and NO TRESPASSING signs have been installed in front of the abandoned asylum, blocking the main entrance.
However, it seems as though whoever installed the fencing, half stepped, as the fence does not completely surround the building, making it possible for anyone to go on the property.

I recall a time when mainstream news media outlets actually served a purpose.
A time when mainstream news media actually did some good.
Many mainstream news stations would even dedicate a segment of their newscast where they would have an investigative reporter, who would cover local stories.
But boy times have really changed and every day we are reminded of what a joke mainstream news media has become.
Every day we are reminded of just how useless and ineffective Corporate America run mainstream news media is.
That's actually why independent citizen journalism is so important.
And that's one of the reasons why The Davy V. Blog exists.
