Boynton, Florida Police officer points gun at unarmed passenger. "I'll put a round in your ass so quick!" |

The Boynton Beach, Florida Police Department is justifying one of their officer's actions after a YouTube video captured the officer threatening to shoot a passenger in a car which was stopped by Boynton Police.
Here's the story.
In February of 2013, Boynton Police pulled over a vehicle with four African-American men inside.
One of those passengers, who was riding in a car, begins video recording the stop.
The video, which wasn't posted on YouTube until last month, shows a Boynton Police Sergeant asking the driver for his driver's license.
After the driver asks why, and a brief exchange between the young men and Boynton Police officers, a Boynton Police Sergeant slaps a cell phone out of the driver's hand, then orders the young man out of the car.
"Get out of the car! Get out of the car!," the Boynton Police Sergeant tells the driver, before pulling the driver out of the car, and throwing him to the ground, then putting his knee into the young man's back.
Just seconds later, another Boynton Police officer is seen arriving n the scene.
That officer then runs over to the car, with his gun drawn, amd pointed at the passenger, before threatening him.
"I'll put a round in your ass so quick," the Boynton Police officer tells the passenger.
The same officer then looks at the backseat, at the young man who is video recording, then end the door, at which time the video stops.
And now that the video has garnered attention on the internet, Boynton Police Chief Jeffery Katz is standing by his cops.
"This incident was thoroughly investigated and, based on the totality of the circumstances, the investigation revealed the officers' actions to be justified," Chief Katz wrote in a Facebook post.
"We encourage members of the public to educate themselves with the facts of this case and not utilize social media to fuel tensions."
According to Chief Katz, his officers were responding to a call for a home invasion about 2 miles from where they pulled the young hen over.
Katz, who said that the home invasion suspect, who according to him was carrying a machete, and who was still at large at the time of the traffic stop, said his officers saw the vehicle driving slowly, and once his officers pulled the car over they mistook the cellphone for a gun.
Wow.
Talk about spinning lies in order to justify rogue, trigger happy cops.
The video is especially disturbing, especially in the wake of the aftermath from the killing of Michael Brown, who was shit and killed by Ferguson, Missouri Police officer
But the video is also very disturbing for another reason.
The video shows how minorities, in this case, African-American men are treated by law enforcement.
I mean, I certainly don't believe that if these had been four white men, this Boynton Police officer would have threatened to shoot an unarmed citizen.
I mean, I certainly don't believe that if these had been four white men, this Boynton Police officer would have threatened to shoot an unarmed citizen.
This incident, and the officers' actions, not only the Boynton Police officer threatening to shoot an unarmed citizen during a traffic stop, but the first Boynton Police officer slapping a cell phone out of a young man's hand, happens on a daily basis throughout the U.S.
The only thing different here is that this incident was captured on video.
If the passenger in the car not recorded exercised his first amendment right to record, there would be no proof of this rogue cop threatening to shoot an innocent, unarmed man.
Which is why I always say... COPS LIE. RECORD EVERYTHING.
