Miami-Dade Sgt. Emil Van Lugo stealing taxpayer funded county gas for his personal use.
It only took a Miami, Florida jury a couple of hours Tuesday, to convict a Miami-Dade cop of stealing from taxpayers to fuel his collection of exotic cars, which includes three Ferarris.

The jury convicted 47-year old Miami-Dade Police Sgt. Emil Van Lugo of theft and organized scheme to defraud the county of Miami-Dade.
"Sadly, Sgt. Van Lugo cared more about cheating the county out of a few dollars to fuel his stable of cars than he did about his oath to uphold the law," said Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle.

According to prosecutors, Sgt. Lugo made weekly trips to a Miami-Dade County fuel station, where he would gas up his police cruiser, as well as two red gasoline containers.
What Lugo didn't know however was that detectives were conducting video surveillance on him.
Both at the fuel station, when he would fill up his red containers, and at his West Kendall home, where he would drop them off.

Prosecutors Trent Reichling and Terry Livanos showed jurors two surveillance videos of Sgt. Van Lugo filling up his wife's BMW with taxpayer funded county gas.
Sgt. Van Lugo, who is free on bail, faces up to 5 years in prison when he is sentenced.
My question is what else was Sgt. Van Lugo stealing on the job in order to afford three Ferraris?
