Judge Orders Teen to Stay off Facebook

Nick Robare
By Davy V.

Nick Robare, the Greece, NY teen charged with aggravated harassment after he posted a racist bullying video on the Internet, has been ordered by Greece, NY Town Judge Charles A. Schiano, Jr. to stay off Facebook.

The video features Nick Robare, Amanda Farabella and her boyfriend Shawn Petrilli, both of 100 Whitman Rd. in Greece, using the word "nigger" throughout, as well as threatening Alex Hare, who is African-American.

Greece, NY Town Judge
Chris A Schiano, Jr.
The video begins with Petrilli looking into the camera and saying "Hope you like your fucking hoodie you nigger."

The hoodie Petrilli is referring to is one which 10 year old Noel Parcells had given to her friend Alex Hare, who is the target of the video.

In addition to racial slurs, the video also contains threats against Alex.

At one point in the video, Nick Robare says, "Next time it won't be your hoodie, next time we'll bust your fucking face."

Nicholas Robare then posted the video on Alex's Facebook page.

On September 5, 2011, 10 year old Noel Parcells and her 3 year old half sister Mia were murdered by Noel's father in Lake George, NY.

On November 30, 2012 I broke the story of this incident.

I then contacted the Greece, NY Police department when Michelle Hare, Alex's mom had informed me that they had refused to do anything.

I also contacted all of the news media outlets in Rochester, and they all said they were not interested in covering the story.

In addition, I reached out to the Karen Klein Anti-Bullying Foundation, started by Klein, a Greece, NY bus monitor, who received over $700,000 in donations after a video of students harassing her on her bus, went viral.

That video was recently named third on Time Magazine's list of 2012 viral videos.

The Karen Klein foundation refused to speak out or denounce this incident, which happened, of all places, in Greece, NY, just 6 months after the Klein video.

Reached for comment, Amanda Klein, Karen Klein's daughter told me she was "taking a nap" and that "family comes first."

She then went on to say that her and her mother were preparing for a vacation and would not get involved in this incident, as it's not what they do.

Many, including myself, have questioned the clear contrast in the publicity that Klein's incident received, when compared to this case which not only involves bullying, but racism as well.

It wasn't until I continued to put pressure on the Greece Police department, that they finally decided to charge Nicholas Robare with aggravated harassment for posting the video to Alex Hare's Facebook page.

Before his arraignment, Robare arrived at the court being carried by a young woman.

Flanked by several supporters including his father, Robare replied "Can I punch you in the face?" after I asked him why he took part in the video.

A young woman who said she was Robare's best friend, then yelled at me: "Do you have a problem? Why are you videotaping? Cause I will slap that shit out of your hand!"

At Thursday's appearance Robare was assigned a public defender.

In continuing his release, Judge Schiano made it clear to Robare that he is not to go on Facebook.

Nick Robare's next court date is on January 31st at 1:00 pm in Greece Town court.

I will be updating this story.
