Pasco County Florida Sheriff Deputy Brett Morris Saves Dog

Pasco County, Florida Deputy Brett Morris places "Lucky" in the back of his cruiser.

By Davy V.

Pasco County, Florida Sheriff's Deputy Brett Morris is being hailed as a hero.

And rightfully so.

You see, Saturday evening Deputy Morris, who was responding to a call for an accident, helped save a family's dog after it had been struck by a car.

Realizing that the dog, who was fittingly named "Lucky", was in bad shape, with injuries to its upper and lower palates, a broken leg, and fractured paw, Deputy Morris placed it in the back of his police cruiser, and raced to an animal hospital in Port Richey, Florida.

Once at the hospital, veterinarians were able to stabilize it.

Veterinarians said that "Lucky", who is going to need extensive surgery, would have bled to death had it not been for Deputy Morris's quick actions.

So how is Deputy Morris dealing with all the attention after saving Lucky's life?

Well Deputy Morris, who has two dogs of his own, says it was his duty to help Lucky.

Thank you Deputy Morris.

May your kind and caring actions in helping an innocent animal be an example to the entire law enforcement community.
