Rochester, NY's City Newspaper Features a Liar and a Criminal Getaway Driver on The Front Cover

Lovely "The Liar" Warren, with her husband
Timothy "The Getaway Driver" Granison.
By Davy V.

Once considered a refreshing alternative newspaper, Rochester's City newspaper is now good for only one thing.

Housebreaking your new puppy.

The free weekly publication has lost its appeal, purpose, and the loyal following it once had, many years ago.

And it's no surprise why.

Take, for example, the January 29th edition of City newspaper, which features Rochester, NY Mayor Lovely Warren and her husband Timothy Granison.

Better known as 'Lovely the Liar', and 'The Getaway Driver.'

Since being sworn in as Rochester's 67th mayor, Lovely Warren has brought a drak cloud to City Hall, and a dark cloud over my hometown.

It literally has been one non-stop train wreck.

It all began when Lovely Warren's husband's past was revealed.

On a cold winter day, in 1997, three Rochester, NY men planned one of the biggest, and most violent armed robberies in local history.

One of those men was Rochester, NY mayor Lovely Warren's husband, Timothy Granison.

Rochester, NY Mayor Lovely Warren's husband
Timothy "The Getaway Driver" Granison
Or, "The Getaway Driver."

Timothy Granison drove his two friends, 25-year old Zachary Holmes, and 17-year old Josh Cottrell, to The Source Jewerly store in Greece, NY, a suburb just outside Rochester.

While his friends entered the store with loaded handguns, Lovely Warren's husband sat behind the wheel, and kept the engine running.

Inside the store, while a woman was showing Zachary Holmes a tray of expensive diamond engagement rings, Holmes jumped over the glass sales counter, put his gun to the woman's head, and began yelling at the terrified woman that he was going to kill her.

The two men then stuffed approximately $900,000 in diamonds and gold jewelry into bags, before running out of the store.

Leaving a trail of shiny gold and diamonds scattered all over the sidewalk, the trio, including Rochester, NY Mayor Lovely Warren's husband were apprehended by police before getting away.

Timothy Granison turned snitch, and in exchange for pleading guilty to second-degree robbery, received five years probation.

Holmes received 25 years after a jury found him guilty of first-degree armed robbery.

Cottrell pleaded guilty to armed robbery at The Source, and also to robbing two men, at gunpoint the previous day, on Monroe Avenue, received a total of 7 to 15 years in State prison.

Timothy Granison, once a willing participant in a nearly $1 Million dollar violent armed robbery, now works for UPS.

After her husband's criminal past was revealed, Lovely Warren hired her uncle, Reggie Hill, a retired New York State Police investigator, and a second man, Caesar Carbonell, as her personal bodyguards and chauffeurs.

With the hires, Lovely Warren unilaterally created two positions, costing Rochester taxpayers more than $140,000 a year.

Warren's creation of these two positions came just a couple of months after Rochester, NY was ranked the 5th poorest city in the U.S.

Shortly after hiring her uncle and Carbonell, Reggie Hill was pulled over for speeding by New York State Police.

Earlier this month, during a press conference, Lovely Warren was asked by reporters about the traffic stop, in which New York State Police said Reggie Hill was driving 97 miles per hour on the thruway.

Reporters asked Lovely Warren if the stop happened on the way to Governor Andrew Cuomo's State of the State Address in Albany, or on the way back to Rochester.

"On the way back," Lovely Warren replied.

A few days later, Rochester, NY radio talk show host Bob Lonsberry broke the news story that Lovely Warren's SUV had actually been stopped twice.

The first time, on the way to Albany, where Reggie Hill was clocked driving 92 miles per hour, and the second time, on the way back to Rochester, where New York State Police clicked Hill driving at 97 miles per hour.

Reggie Hill was not ticketed in either stop.

After several days of ignoring questions by the media, and refusing to say why she lied, Lovely Warren's uncle, Reggie Hill resigned, admitting he was pulled over twice.

Lovely Warren refused to explain why she lied.

Then just a couple of days ago, in an interview with News 10NBC reporter Lynnette Adams, Lovely Warren finally broke her silence.

Warren said she never lied and has always told the truth.

In her news report, Adams says she asked Lovely Warren off camera why she left out that there were two traffic stops.

The Liar, and The Getaway Driver.
Rochester, NY Mayor Lovely Warren
and her husband Timothy Granison.
Lovely Warren said that during the trip, she was on her ipad, and was dozing off, and didn't realize there had been two stops.

Lovely Warren is a liar.

And City Newspaper's publisher and editor Mary Anna Towler should be ashamed of herself, for putting a liar and a criminal, who took part in a disgusting, violent robbery where an innocent woman could have killed, on the cover.

We teach our children not to lie.

To always tell the truth.

We teach our children that good behavior is rewarded.

Bad behavior is NOT rewarded.

Lying is NOT rewarded.

Shame on Mary Anna Towler for rewarding Rochester, NY Mayor Lovely Warren, a liar, and her husband, Timothy Granison, a criminal, by giving them the cover.

A cover should be a reward.

It should be reserved for people who have positively contributed
to society in some way.

Lovely Warren is a liar whose lies have hurt an already struggling city.

She with that smirk on her face is not worthy of a cover of any publication.

And neither is her criminal husband, staring down the camera in the City newspaper photo.

Rochester, NY Mayor Lovely Warren Says She Was on iPad, and Dozing Off, Didn't Know her SUV had been Pulled Over Twice

Rochester, NY Mayor Lovely Warren
By Davy V.

If Rochester, NY was a major city like New York or Toronto, Saturday Night Live would have endless material for skits, when it comes to Rochester, NY Mayor Lovely Warren.

Since taking office, Lovely Warren has been a train wreck.

It has literally been one thing after another.

Beginning when she hired her uncle Reggie Hill, a returned New York State Police investigator, to lead two man bodyguard and personal chauffeur team.

In doing so, Lovely Warren unilaterally created two positions, costing Rochester taxpayers more than $140,000 a year.

Warren's creation of these two positions came just a couple of months after Rochester, NY was ranked the 5th poorest city in the U.S.

The bodyguard/ personal chauffeur positions were a first in Rochester, NY history.
ALL LAUGHS
Reggie Hill has resigned.

Earlier this month, during a press conference, Lovely Warren was asked by reporters of the traffic stop. where New York State Police said Reggie Hill was driving 97 miles per hour on the thruway, happened on the way to Governor Andrew Cuomo's State of the State Address in Albany, or on the way back.

"On the way back," Lovely Warren replied.

Lovely Warren lied.

Reggie Hill was stopped twice.

Lovely Warren's SUV was stopped twice.

The first time, on the way to Albany, where Reggie Hill was clocked driving 92 miles per hour, and the second time, on the way back to Rochester, where New York State Police clicked Hill driving at 97 miles per hour.

New York State Police refused to ticker Hill in either stop.

After several days of ignoring questions by the media, and refusing to say why she lied, Reggie Hill resigned, admitting he was pulled over twice.

Yesterday, in an interview with News 10NBC reporter Lynnette Adams, Lovely Warren finally broke her silence.

Warren said she never lied and has always told the truth.

In her news report, Adams says she asked Lovely Warren off camera why she left out that there were two traffic stops.

Lovely Warren's reply?

She says that during the trip, she was on her ipad, and was dozing off, and she didn't realize there had been two stops.

WTF?

Wait a sec.

Let me get this straight...

Lovely Warren says she was on her ipad, and dozing off, therefore she didn't realize that her SUV had been pulled over.

Twice.

Ok, she was in a Chevy Tahoe, not a 747 jet.

Who wouldn't remember being stopped by cops?

Twice!

Lovely Warren is a liar.

And anyone who believes her, deserves to be duped by her.

Check out the videos below.

I don't know about you, but it's clear just by looking at Lovely Warren talking that she's lying.

Look at the eyes.

The eyes say it all.

Is Pittsford, NY Schools Superintendent Mike Pero Downplaying and Defending Racist Chant Targeting Brighton Basketball Player? (UPDATED)

Pittsford, NY Schools Superintendent Mike Pero
"Student at Pittsford meant no harm."
By Davy V.

Pittsford, NY Schools Superintendent Mike Pero seems to be defending a racist chant by a Pittsford-Sutherland High School Student directed at an Indian Brighton High School varsity basketball player.

During the varsity game which was held at Pittsford-Sutherland High School on Friday, the Pittsford student, who was sitting in the stands began leading a chant yelling "We want Slurpees!", while the Indian player was at the free throw line.

The chant, a reference to the player's culture was directed at people of Hindu descent who own 7-11 convenience stores, where Slurpees are sold.

Once the student initiated the chant, other Pittsford-Sutherland High School students and fans also began repeating it while clapping.

The group which can be heard in the video clip below yelling "We Want Slurpees!" is known as the Pittsford-Sutherland "Super Fans."

As disturbing as the incident is, equally as disturbing is how Pittsford Schools Superintendent Mike Pero seemed to downplay the seriousness of the racist chant by his student.

"We're trying to find that balance between appropriately disciplining someone who was in a leadership role and finding a way to find the right type of discipline for those who were in the follower-type role," Pero said during a news conference where he and Brighton Schools Superintendent Kevin McGowan sat side by side.

Then, Pero, describing possible discipline options said that the important thing is "that the boy that was at the foul line would know and feel a little better that the student at Pittsford meant no harm."

"We're trying to find a balance..."?

"Meant no harm"?

Are you kidding me?

Brighton, NY High School player
at free throw line was target of racist chant
by Pittsford-Sutherland student and fans.
A Pittsford-Sutherland High School student targets an Indian basketball player because of his race, and immediately begins yelling a racist chant, which other students and fans immediately join in on, and Pittsford Schools Superintendent Mike Pero downplays a disturbing incident by saying that the student leading the racist chant "meant no harm"?

As for the young man who had to endure racist Pittsford-Sutherland students and fans yelling a sick and racist chant, he handled the situation better than some would.

"It's my understanding that he carried himself with great dignity and grace and continued to play basketball,” Brighton Schools Superintendent Kevin McGowan said.

"He really focused on the task at hand and seemed to be aware certainly that it happened, but was focused on the game.”

One thing that's clear is that Pittsford, NY officials, including School Superintendent Mike Pero, as well as the Pittsford community in general don't want this attention and spotlight on their little town.

The video which was posted on YouTube disappeared just as soon as this disturbing incident went public.

Which is why the video was removed.

"thaSuperfans" Twitter account
I did my own searching on the internet, and I found the "Sutherlands Fans", or "thaSuperfans" Twitter page.

Their Twitter account, which was created on September 16, 2013, boasts tweets bragging about the Pittsford-Sutherland sports teams, along with some tweets encouraging fans to come out and support games.

One interesting photo on "thaSuperfans"
twitter account is of an altercation between an
"gettin into it with some
AQ punk last week"
Aquinas High School player, and a Pittsford-Sutherland player, with the caption, "gettin into it with some AQ punk last week #KnockingBodies #HePutsOnForHisCity"

The Pittsford-Sutherland "thaSuperfans" logo is a yellow and black Super Man style symbol with a letter "f" in the center.

The shirts were sold at Valenti Sports, a sporting goods and apparel store located in Brighton.

I spoke with Phillip Valenti, owner and vice-president of Valenti Sports.

Interestingly, Valenti is a 2001 graduate of Pittsford-Sutherland, and he played on the school's basketball team.

"We don't condone things like that, it's unfortunate what happened' said Valenti.

"When I was there, diversity was prominent, and the superfans were kept on a tight leash."

Valenti told me that the Pittsford-Sutherland Superfans have always been a way for the school's students to support the players and teams.

Pittsford-Sutherland High School
"Tha Superfans" t-shirt.
"I think it would be upsetting if they got rid of the group," said Valenti.

"That's not necessary, it gives the students something to do."

But is there more to the "Superfans"?

I get the part about supporting your team.

But when you personally target and attack someone based on their ethnicity, that is unacceptable.

Someone called into a local radio show and made a very good point.

The caller said if that had been an African-American player at the free throw line, and students in the stands began to yell "We want watermelon!", would that be tolerated?

Of course it wouldn't.

And neither should this.

Rochester, NY Mayor Lovely Warren's Administration Used Well Known 'Friday News Dump' to Announce her Uncle, Reggie Hill's Resignation as her Personal Bodyguard/Chauffeur

By Davy V.
ALL LAUGHS
Reggie Hill has resigned.

Just when I thought the Lovely Warren scandal over the hiring of her uncle, Reggie Hill as the head of her two man bodyguard/personal chauffeur team, and the fact that she lied about how many times the SUV she was in was stopped by New York State troopers, to and from the State Capital recently, was over, comes yet something else.

In what is commonly known in the media as a 'Friday News Dump'[, the releasing of negative news stories, documents, etc., on a Friday afternoon, or early evening in an attempt to try and avoid news media scrutiny, Rochester, NY Mayor Lovely Warren, and her administration did just that in announcing Reggie Hill's resignation.

Notice of Hill's resignation went out to Rochester's corporate-America run mainstream news media went out around 4:45 p.m. Friday, 15 minutes before the office lights start going off, and most people
go home for the weekend.

Hill cited the reason for his resignation as a distraction from the work that Lovely Waren needs to focus on as mayor.

THE LIAR
Rochester, NY Mayor Lovely Warren

One interesting, yet not surprising fact however, is that Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren was nowhere to be found for comment.

Instead, her spokeswoman, Christine Christopher, who has done a horrible job at PR, was very curt when local news reporter Amanda Ciavarri went to Rochester City Hall seeking comment.

Christopher told Ciavarri that Lovely Warren still supports her decision in hiring her uncle, and has no regrets.

When Ciavarri asked about the fact that Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren lied about the number of stops, a very rude, and curt Christopher replied, "That is not something I'm going to talk about today. I am here to talk about Mr. Hill's resignation."

And then News 10NBC reporter Amanda Ciavarri asked Warren's spokeswoman what is perhaps one of of the best, most blunt questions I have ever seen a mainstream local news media reporter ask.

NO TRANSPENCY HERE.
Christine Christopher, Lovely Warren's spokeswoman,
refuses to answer questions.
“It has been about a week, the mayor won’t answer questions, you won’t talk about it and you are a spokeswoman for her and you are not taking questions, when will tax payers and the people she serves get answers?”

"I think that everything that needs to be known about that incident has come out and that is all we are going to say on it," answered Lovely Warren's spokeswoman.
And there you have it Rochester, NY taxpayers... Your hard earned tax dollars at work.

Seneca County, NY Parole Officers Arrested, Charged with Grand Larceny, Filing False Instrument

The Faces of Corruption.
NYS Parole officers arrested.
By Davy V.

Parole officers supervise individuals who have are released early (paroled) from prison sentences for crimes they have been convicted of.

A parole officer has the power to show up at your home, your place of employment, or any other location you happen to be at, just to check up on you.

And they can violate you, which can result in you going back to prison, for just about anything.

That's a lot of power and responsibility entrusted upon someone.

And like police officers, or any other official in positions of power and trust, when they become corrupt, they must be exposed.

Because just like police officers, and the law enforcement community as a whole, all it takes is a few dirty ones to tarnish the good work that many are committed to doing.

Three Seneca County, NY parole officers were arrested by New York State Police, and charged with filing false time sheets.

In an investigation that included State Police, New York State Departnent of Corrections, and the Community Supervision Inspector General's Office, 56-year old Cheryl D'Amico of Geneva, NY, 57-year old Mechela Cordiero of Wolcott, NY, and 49-year old Debra Camillo of Ithaca, NY were arrested and charged with grand larceny and offering a false instrument for filing.

All three were arraigned in Waterloo, NY Town Court and released on their own recognizance, without having to post any bail.

Now if only the New York State Police can stop giving former NYS Troopers free passes when they are pulled over on the thruway like they did to retired New York State Police investigator Reggie Hill, Rochester, NY Mayor Lovely Warren's uncle, personal bodyguard, and chauffeur, then maybe New York State taxpayers could begin to trust them.

Reggie Hill was pulled over twice for speeding.

Once on his way to take Rochester, NY Mayor Lovely Warren to Governor Andrew Cuomo's State of the State Address in Albany, NY, where he was clocked driving 92 miles per hour, and the second time while driving Mayor Warren back to Rochester, where he was clocked driving 97 miles per hour.

He was not ticketed for either stop.

Former NAACP President Benjamin Jealous on Right to Record; "One of the most powerful tools we have to expose cops that go too far."

Benjamin Jealous
former NAACP President
By Davy V.

Friday afternoon I went to meet former NAACP President Mr. Benjamin Jealous.

The youngest president in the history of the 104-year old organization, Jealous was in Rochester to deliver the University of Rochester's 2014 Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative  Address.

Benjamin Jealous walked into the Frederick Douglass Leadership House shortly after 3:00 p.m.

After introducing myself and exchanging a firm handshake, Mr. Jealous allowed me the opportunity to interview him.

Check out the interview below, where Mr. Jealous also talks about the importance of citizens getting involved.

In the interview I tell Mr. Jealous about the history of the out of control Rochester, NY Police department, one case in particular which was especially disturbing.

Some may recall the viral video of Brenda Hardaway, a pregnant, African-American woman whose beating by a white Rochester Police officer, Lucas Krull, who drove her, stomach first into a wooden porch railing post, punched her in the side of her head, then slammed her on the ground was all caught on video. (below)
Closeup of Rochester, NY Police officer
punching pregnant woman in her head.

Well, after I posted that video on my YouTube channel, I exposed Rochester Rochester Police officers who hung a monkey effigy from their police cruiser's mirror.

Mr. Jealous clearly had no idea about the Rochester, NY Police department's long history of misconduct, corruption, and racism.

Rochester, NY Police officer
throws pregnant woman to the ground
after punching her in her head.

I also asked Mr. Jealous to share his thoughts on citizen's first amendment right to record, something I'm always educating and informing people about.

Be sure to check out his response, in the video below.

After I interviewed Mr. Jealous, I attended the MLK Commemorative Speech which was held at the University of Rochester's Strong Auditorium where Jealous gave a powerful moving talk which ranged from the courage and determination of great civil rights leaders like Dr. King, Fredrick Douglass, Shirley Chisholm, and Nelson Mandela, to talking about his own beginnings.
Rochester, NY Police cruiser,
with a black monkey hanging from it.

Jealous talked about traveling to Mississippi, where he organzed a protest against the closing of black colleges, including Mississippi State, "San Francisco forty niners alma matter", Jealous told the audience, which was slated to be turned into a prison.

During his speech, Jealous described an encounter he and other organizers had with a man at a Waffle House restaurant n Mississippi.

At first it seemed like a hostile situation, with the man staring them down and even referring to Jealous and the other African-Americans as "boys", when he asked Jealous and his group were they protestors he had seen on TV.

The man then put down his bags of take out food and extended his hand.

Benjamin Jealous shook it.

"If I had been born a nigger in this state, I would be mad as hell too," the man told Jealous and the other activists.

The man then told the group that he owned the used car lot up the street, and to come see him if they needed anything.

The following day, Jealous and the others went to the man's car lot and rented a car.

Jealous says he used that as a lesson to not to make assumptions.

By the way, the prison was never built, and the colleges are still there.

Because Ben Jealous did something.

He didn't just stand complacent like so many do.

I'm thankful to have had the opportunity to meet Benjamin Jealous, and to have attended such a powerful and moving speech.

Afterwards, I was one of only a couple in the audience who got up to speak.

I thanked Jealous for coming to my hometown, but I also implored the audience, who was mostly African-American, to not be complacent, to not sit by silent and watch injustices, especially ones committed by rogue law enforcement officers.

"Please stand up", I said.

"Please stop being complacent."

Rochester, NY News Media Questions Pittsford, NY Shooting where Monroe County, NY Sheriff's Deputy Opened Fire Near McDonald's Full of Children, Shooting Shoplifting Suspect (UPDATED)

Monroe County, NY Sheriff deputy opened fire
next to this McDonald's while young children
were inside.
By Davy V.

Young children and their families eating inside a Pittsford, NY McDonald's were terrified when  Monroe County, NY Sheriff's deputy Bridget Davis opened fire, shooting  22-year old Wegman's shoplifting suspect Vincenzo Zagari in the chest.

As Monroe County, NY Sheriff officials prevented employees from nearby businesses from going home to their families until they were questioned as to what they saw, which sounds to me like they may have been worried as to what any witnesses may have observed, mainstream news reporters waited in the cold at a parking lot across the street from the scene.

At one point a Plaza security guard asked reporters to move their news trucks and leave the premises.

As Vincenzo Zagari was rushed into surgery at Strong Memorial Hospital, some news reporters were disturbed by the way that Monroe County, NY Sheriff Patrick O'Flynn dodged them, refusing to give any information or details.

Monroe County, NY Sheriff's Deputy Bridget Davis

In fact, some took to twitter to express their frustration at Sheriff O'Flynn's lack of transparency.

"Not looking like Monroe Co Sheriff will be addressing questions on camera re: Pittsford deputy-involved shooting. Raises questions IMO"

"IMO" is short text for "In my opinion."

Carroll fired off several more tweets, including this one:

"Certainly reasonable to expect that public servants come out & explain to community what's going on in a situation like this."

Finally, several hours later, after making sure that their stories all matched, Sheriff O'Flynn, flanked by other high ranking department officials vaguely answered the media's questions.

Monroe County, NY Sheriff Patrick O'Flynn
Monroe County, NY Sheriff Patrick O'Flynn, in full damage control spin move, said that his deputies responded to a call for a shoplifter at the Wegmans Food Market in Pittsford Plaza around 3:30 pm Wednesday afternoon.

According to O'Flynn the shoplifting suspect fled in a vehicle, crashed with another vehicle, then ran behind M&T Bank.

O'Flynn said the man then displayed a weapon, which is when the female deputy shot the man in the chest.

Interestingly, Sheriff O'Flynn refused to say what that weapon was.

Then, with the investigation into the shooting by one of his deputies near a crowded McDonald's with young children inside, just beginning, Sheriff O'Flynn said that Deputy Bridget Davis has a "stellar record", and that she would not be placed on any administrative duty, something law enforcement agencies typically do, especially after an officer-involved shooting, at least pending the investigation results.

Monroe County, NY Sheriff Patrick O'Flynn's comments show how law enforcement officials justify a shooting incident, before the investigation is even complete.

I don't trust Monroe County, NY Sheriff Patrick OFlynn.

O'Flynn led a cover up by his department in 2012, in a controversial case where a Penfield, NY man's dog and best friend was executed by Monroe County, NY Sheriff deputies Matt Clancy and Sean LeClair.

O'Flynn and the deputies lied, saying that deputies used their department-issued service firearm to stop the dog who they claimed was charging at them.

However, a necropsy performed at Cornell University found that a 9 mm gun was used, which is not the standard issue firearm for the Monroe County, NY Sheriff's Office.

Vincenzo Zagari
Shot by Monroe County, NY Sheriff deputy
Basically meaning that Monroe County, NY Sheriff's deputies carry 'back-up' concealed firearms, other than their service issued guns.

The necropsy also showed that deputies lied when they said the family fog was close to them when they fired, showing in fact that Diablo was much further away, and retreating, not charging.

Here's my take.

Given a clear choice of lying for his deputy after she opens fire in Pittsford, NY, in a white, affluent neighborhood, just feet away from young children eating inside a McDonald's, or admitting she was trigger-happy and panicked, Patrick O'Flynn WOULD LIE.

Patrick O'Flynn has LIED BEFORE.

UPDATE:

While Vincenzo Zagari fights for his life, with what doctors are saying a 20 to 30% chance of surviving, Monroe County, NY Sheriff Patrick O'Flynn wasted no time in once again calling the actions of his deputy, who has been identified as Bridget Davis, a 12-year veteran of the department, justified.

Sheriff O'Flynn now says that Zagari first displayed a hammer, then, when deputy Davis struck Zagari with her baton, O'Flynn says Zagari displayed a pellet gun, and that's when Monroe County, NY Sheriff deputy Bridget Davis shot Zagari, several times.

Randall "Rambo" Benjamin, Rochester, NY Police Lead Investigator in Matthew Straton Case, has Long History of Misconduct and Corruption

Rochester, NY Police homicide investigator
Randall "Rambo" Benjamin
By Davy V.

In June of 1986, Rochester, NY Police officers Randall "Rambo" Benjamin and Mark Mariano kicked in the front door to my family's home at 184 Child Street, terrorized me, my brother, my mother, and my father at gunpoint, threatened to shoot our family dog, and illegally searched our home without a warrant, overturning mattress, dresser drawers, and destroying our personal belongings, including my baseball trophies.

I was crying when the officers threatened to shoot our family dog, before officer Mariano grabbed me by my shirt, slamming up against the hallway wall, lifting me off the floor, yelling at me to shut up.

Benjamin and Mariano were acting on a false report made by an alcoholic next door neighbor of ours whom they knew very well from countless prior arrests.

This neighbor was upset that my father refused to give him money to buy alcohol, so he called Rochester Police, drunk, and lied to them, telling them that my Dad had a gun in the house.

No gun was ever found.

I remember officer Benjamin laughing in my brother's face, and asking him "Who are you, Perry Mason?", when my brother told both officers that they had no right to do what they did to our family, and that what they did was against the law.

As someone who was always taught to respect law enforcement, the incident forever changed my life and the way I looked at police, and is what led me to become an activist and advocate against police misconduct and corruption.

There's a reason for the "Rambo" nickname that Benjamin earned working out of the Rochester Police department's Maple Section on the city's west side.

Throughout the years I continued to hear about incidents where Rochester, NY Police officer Randall "Rambo" Benjamin abused innocent people, like he did to me and my family.

Benjamin was later promoted to the Rochester Police department's Major Crimes Section as a homicide investigator.

In 2010, Randall "Rambo" Benjamin became the focus of an investigation by the FBI.

Benjamin was tied to several federal cases where criminal defendants were considered for reduced prison sentences, as a result of false and misleading information which he provided to judges in those cases.

In essence, Rochester, NY Police investigator Randall "Rambo" Benjamin was illegally, and unethically working out deals with criminals where he would help these criminals obtain lighter sentences, based on false and misleading information which he, and other RPD investigators gave to judges.

Many say that in exchange for helping these criminals receive lighter sentences, Benjamin received money, and other favors.

Unfortunately, but not surprising, the FBI investigation against Rochester Police investigator disappeared overnight, being swept under the rug, never to be heard of again, with Rochester's Corporate-America mainstream news media never reporting, or printing another word about it.

Which is why, given Rochester Police investigator Randall "Rambo" Benjamin's long history of misconduct and corruption, I found it both interesting as well as disturbing that he is the lead investigator in the homicide of Matthew Straton, the 31-year old man who went missing in October.

On Thursday, almost three months since Straton's disappearance, his body was found buried in the backyard of 27 Rowley St.

The home's owner, 62-year old Dr. William Lewek, was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence, as well as an intent to sell crack cocaine charge.

As you can see in the photo to the right, in the sworn affidavit, Rochester, NY Police investigator Randall "Rambo" Benjamin accuses William Lewek of removing Matthew Straton's body from the third floor of his home, then burying it in his backyard.

I wonder if Rochester, NY Police homicide investigator will try to get this suspect a deal.
